It’s ok if your only reason for going “Green” is to save yourself some…money that is. That’s why my husband and I started making more environmentally friendly choices. We started by looking for less expensive/wasteful ways of doing things because it’s silly(and kinda irresponsible) to spend hard earned money when you don’t have to. One way of doing this was to replace our disposable furnace filters with one washable one. We bought an adjustable filter that we cut to fit our furnace and it has been working great for the past few months. The filter is made to withstand approximately ten years of use, so for us it should be about a $300.00 total savings in ten years. Plus, there will be 39 less (when normally changed every 3 months) disposable filters in a landfill. Pretty awesome and it only takes minutes to clean. Lowe’s and Home Depot should also carry similar products, so if you can’t find what you need on Amazon I’d check there.
|This is the one we bought, but there are other types that don’t have to be cut. We bought this one because they didn’t have the size we needed.
