The other day, in the middle of the breakfast rush, I was in a pinch. I didn’t have my tablet holder near-by and I was too lazy to go out and get it (I had left it in our camping trailer while I was out cleaning it a few days prior). Anyway, I hate trying to use my Kindle in the kitchen unless I have a holder because it either sits on the counter flat and I have to pick it up every time I need to look at it (for recipes), or it is doing some sort of balancing act and frequently falls over. Well, I decided to see if I could figure out a quick fix and I was actually surprised with the results. I think that this solution would be a perfect (and cheap) one for people that want to have a tablet holder at work but don’t want to have to lock it up every night so it won’t get stolen.
All you need is an empty cd/dvd spindle and a push pin! It literally takes about two seconds to put it together and it is fairly sturdy.
*I’m sure that a small paper-clip could work instead of the push-pin, but my kids always steal my paperclips so I couldn’t find one at the time.*
Most of you probably don’t need any direction on this, but I thought I’d add a few more photos to show the rest of you how to do it.
I’ve got my spindle and push pin ready to go.
The spindle should have little slots like these all around it. It’s where the lid is supposed to lock on.
All you do is stick the push-pin or paper-clip down in that slot.
Now it’s ready to add your tablet! It’s so simple it’s ridiculous!
